INTRODUCTION

TCM Motorsports is a Portland, Oregon based amateur auto racing team. Formed as a father/son team in 1997 by team owner/driver, Jay Culbertson and his son, Scott the focus was on road racing in Porsche Club of America and Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) racing events. Scott Culbertson quickly became one of SCCA’s prominent young drivers receiving the Oregon SCCA National Driver of the Year Award for 2000 and 2001 along with capturing podium finishes at the national competition for those same years. In 2000, after receiving some exposure to off-road racing, Jay along with his business partner, Ken Phillips, participated in the Baja 2000 where they took first place in the Baja Challenge class. In 2002, off-road racing became a part of the TCM Motorsports program with Jay’s addition of a Chenowth Class 10 buggie which has seen action in Baja 500 and 1000 races. In 2006 Scott Culbertson left the sport of auto racing, enlisting in the United States Marine Corps. as an officer. Jay’s love of racing and desire to share the incredible challenge and experience it provides has led him to invite friends and co-workers to participate in this exciting sport as he continues to race under the TCM Motorsports banner.

THE DRIVERS

Jay Culbertson - Team Owner / Driver
(SCCA, Porsche Club, Score-International Off-Road)

Jay has been racing since 1990 and has participated in races for the Porsche Club of America, International Conference of Sports Car Clubs (ICSCC), Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) and Score-International Off-Road Racing. Jay's experience with the Baja began after taking a Wide Open Baja tour in 1998 where he became hooked on the off-road experience.

Joe Baguio - Driver
(Score-International Off-Road)

Joe Baguio is a graduate of the University of Oregon where he participated in the U of O football program. Joe like others at TCM has become infatuated with the Baja experience, most recently joining the TCM Motorsports team as Lead-Off Driver in the 2006 Baja 1000. Joe’s competitive spirit and fluid driving style make him a great asset to the team.

John Crosby - Driver
(SCCA, Porsche Club, Pirelli Cup)

John started his motor sports career in the mid 1980's with autocross and time trial events. He attended his first SCCA race in 1988. Since that time he has been primarily involved in the Porsche Club of America Club Racing Program as both a racer and National Official. Still currently a National Steward for PCA, John served as National Chairman of the program for six years from 2001 to 2006.

Scott Culbertson - Driver
(SCCA)

Our thoughts are with Lieutenant Scott Culbertson as he is currently serving active duty in Iraq with the United States Marine Corps.

Prior to enlisting with the Marines, Scott began racing at the age of 16 after years of attending many race weekends. Scott’s racing career began behind the wheel of a Datsun 510 ITC car, followed by a Datsun 510 G Production car and later when he made the transition to a Nissan bodied GT4 tube framed car. In 2003 Scott became one of the first drivers in the country to race in the T2 Class promoting a Nissan 350Z. His skill behind the wheel brought him numerous accolades that included: 2000 & 2001 Oregon SCCA National Driver of the Year, 2000 & 2001 Podium Finishes at the SCCA National Championships, 2001 Norpac Champion, and the prestige of a featured driver in the 2002, 2003 and 2005 Nissan Motorsports calendars.
