2008 Rose Cup Races Finish with Disappointment

TCM Motorsports once again competed in Regional, National and Porsche Cup racing during the Portland Rose Festival Rose Cup Races. In Saturday's Porsche Cup Race, Jay Culbertson (#86) was able to capture a 7th place finish. Sunday's racing brought disappointment as a low cloud level and a malfunctioning exhaust system resulted in disqualifications for noise levels in both the Porsche Cup and Rose Cup Races.

     
TCM Motorsports Completes Legendary Baja 1000

TCM Motorsports found success after completing the nearly 1300 mile 2007 Baja 1000 race in 46 hours 23 minutes. Their finish comes after overcoming a four hour delay due to an electrical problem early in the race. With a 5th in class and 192nd overall finish the team celebrates this as a huge win.
     
2007 Baja 1000 Just One Month Away

The 2007 Baja 1000 is just around the corner and the TCM Motorsports team is nearly ready to go. This year the team is rolling out a new look and a renewed dedication to completing all of the nearly 1300 miles that make up this year's grueling off-road race.
     
Success at the 2007 Rose Cup Races

After a two year absense from driving the TCM Motorsports #86 Porsche, Jay Culbertson got back behind the wheel and drove to 3rd and 2nd Place Finishes during the weekend's Porsche Cup Races.
     
TCM Motorsports Comes Up Short in Baja 1000

Led by Team Owner and Driver, Jay Culbertson, the TCM Motorsports team battled the challenges of the 2006 Baja 1000 only to come up a disappointing 80 miles short of the finish line. After spending 6 hours in the BF Goodrich pit Friday at 1:00 AM with mechanical issues the car succumbed 24 hours later to an unrepairable clutch just shy of the finish line.
     
TCM Returns from Baja 1000 Pre-Run

The TCM Motorsports off-road team now has an idea of what to expect of the Baja 1000 course for 2006 after spending last week running a full course pre-run that took them down the Baja peninsula from Ensenada to La Paz. Ken Phillips, 2nd leg driver, found out first hand that the section of the course that he will be racing is still tore up after the Summer's hurricanes.
     
Team Heads to California for Baja 1000 Testing

Over the weekend of August 19th, the TCM Motorsports team headed to Barstow, California to perform testing on both the Class 10 race car and the completely repaired Pre-Runner in preparation for November's 2006 Baja 1000 off-road race. The trip proved to be very beneficial as additional needed mechanical modifications were identified in order to improve the performance of both vehicles.

     
Rose Cup Races Bring Victories to TCM Motorsports

The team welcomed Porsche Club of America Race Chairman, John Crosby, as guest driver of the TCM Motorsports #86 Porsche Cup Car. John drove the car to victory in both of the weekends Porsche Cups. Not to be out done, Scott Culbertson in the #64 Nissan 350 Z took 1st place in Regional and Nationals with Jay Culbertson taking 5th and 2nd respectively.
     
TCM Motorsports 350Zs Go Head to Head at P.I.R.

This last weekend brought the two TCM Motorsports 350Zs to Portland International Raceway for their first head to head home track competition. Scott Culbertson in the red #64 was able to claim 1st place in Nationals while Jay Culbertson in the blue #86 came in with a respectable 5th place finish.

The first SCCA race of the season at Portland International raceway was a rainy day with a small field of competitors but for TCM Motorsports it gave Jay Culbertson a chance to continue to get comfortable in the seat of the new Nissan 350Z while taking home a first place overall finish.
