  Jay Culbertson

  Team Owner / Driver
(SCCA, porsche Club, Baja)
    Driver Notes-
Jay has been racing Sports Cars since 1990 and has participated in races for the Porsche Club of America, International Conference of Sports Car Clubs (ICSCC), and Sports Car Club of America (SCCA). In 1992 Jay founded TCM Motorsports and has been racing under the banner with his son and prominent SCCA racer, Scott Culbertson. Jay's experience with the Baja began after taking a Wide Open Baja tour in 1998 where he became hooked on the off-road experience. In 2000 Jay along with his business partner and fellow TCM Motorsports driver, Ken Phillips, participated in the Baja 2000 where they took first place in the Baja Challenge class. In 2002, off-road racing became a part of the TCM Motorsports program with Jay's addition of a Chenowth Class 10 buggie which has seen action in Baja 500 and 1000 races. Jay's love of off-road racing and desire to share the incredible challenge it provides has led him to invite friends and co-workers to participate in this exciting sport.

  Scott Culbertson

  Driver (SCCA)

Scott Culbertson began racing at the age of 16 after years of attending many race weekends.  His enthusiasm for racing grew after becoming a SCCA licensed corner worker where he had the opportunity to experience professional racing up close during CART races at Portland International Raceway.  Scott’s racing career began behind the wheel of a Datsun 510 ITC car, followed by a Datsun 510 G Production car and later when he made the transition to a Nissan bodied GT4 tube framed car.  In 2003 Scott became one of the first drivers in the country to race in the T2 Class promoting a Nissan 350Z.  His skill behind the wheel brought him numerous accolades that included: 2000 & 2001 Oregon SCCA National Driver of the Year, 2000 & 2001 Podium Finishes at the SCCA National Championships, 2001 Norpac Champion, and the prestige of a featured driver in the 2002, 2003 and 2005 Nissan Motorsports calendars.

Scott is currently on a hiatus from TCM Motorsports and racing as he serves his country as Lieutenant in the Marine Corps.

  Ken Phillips

  Driver (Baja)
Ken Phillips has been an avid off-road motorcycle rider, spending many hours on the seat in incredibly rough terrain.  In 1998 Ken along with Jay Culbertson, his business partner, participated in a tour of the Baja peninsula through Wide Open Baja and soon found a new enthusiasm for the sport of off-road auto racing. In 2000 Ken and Jay participated in the Baja 2000 as co-drivers, taking first place in the Baja Challenge Class.  Since that time Ken has been an avid racer in the TCM Motorsports Class 10 buggy and an exceptional asset to the team both in his excitement for the sport, quick thinking action, and calm demeanor under difficult conditions.

  Joe Baguio

  Driver (Baja)
Joe Baguio is a graduate of the University of Oregon where he participated in the U of O football program.  Joe like others at TCM has become infatuated with the Baja experience, most recently joining the TCM Motorsports team as Lead-Off Driver in the 2006 Baja 1000.  Joe’s competitive spirit and fluid driving style make him a great asset to the team.
